While God wants His children to prosper and drive nice cars and live in nice houses it's your attitude that really concerns me. Jesus said "I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me--you failed to do it to me." When ever we fail to provide for those in need - for those who are hungry, we fail to do for Him. The strongest believer lives not so much by apprehending Christ as by being apprehended of him (Phi 3:12),not so much by knowing God as by being known of him (Gal 4:9); and this the least child is capable of. If they cannot stretch out their hands to Christ, yet he can lay his hands on them, and so make them his own, and own them for his own. These starving childrenyou are saying that do not matter do belong to Him. Another thing - you do not know if they do know of Christ or not. There are still thousands of God's children in third world countries that are starving. One way God provides for them is by having those who are blessed such as you and me send finances for food. In your words it clearly relays that you are burying your head in the sand. Be sure of your actions because there will be many who will say "Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking." But Jesus will tell them, "I've never known you. Get away from me, you evil people." Mat 7:22-23. prayon |

I do believe in giving money to the poor and helping those people when they are need of help. I am preparing myself mentally and finacially to build a youth center and a homeless shelter to help those in need in my state with money that I have saved and donations from my company. So don't tell me I am evil and that Jesus don't know me because I won't send money over seas to help starving children.

I never said you were either. What I said was that you were burying your head in the sand if you think that there are no starving Christians in third world countries.

Hi, Pray On! Not only in third-world countries... here in the good ole US of A is also happening! I've been trying to follow some of this thread... it seems that some equate having wealth to being closer to God... and that Jesus has some how guaranteed that those who Believe in Him will not suffer any needs... What Bible version are they reading? What congregation purports that anyone who is not middle class and up is does not believe in Christ? Were Jesus' warnings against the blindness created by the lust for wealth and power idle rhetoric? And when Judas feigned interest for the poor did Jesus not state that there would always be poor in the world? Did Jesus not admonished that His followers should strive to amass treasure in Heaven and not on earth? Can you imagine Christ's "Club" being closed to people with yearly incomes below 100K or so? You are right! People are burying their heads in the sand! Not only that, they are reinventing Christ... making Him a more affluent and political correct Savior! God Bless! Angel |
