Bible Note: Janae Notice the use of Matthew 8:16,17. Jesus accomplished this before the cross, before He was strickened, before He was lashed, before He was striped. It is referring to verse Isaiah 53:4 which has nothing to do with the cross and atonement but is a desciption of Jesus our Great Physican. Look at James 5:14-15 it is telling us what to do if we are sick, it says nothing about healing in the atonement only that healing is available. That has been the case since God created man. God Himself said He was the Lord our healer, Exodus 15:26; Exodus 23:25; Deut. 32:39; Psalm 41:3, 4; Psalm 103:3; Psalm 147:3 Now look what the AG actually says here (I'm AG by the way and know this was carefully worded) it doesn't say physical healing for the present age is provided for in the atonement. If you notice what they say is, "divine healing is provided for in the atonement" and I have always agreed to that. One day we will all be healed our afflictions. God is our healer, our Great Physician. Again if healing was in the atonement then everyone that came to Christ as Lord would also be healed and that simple is not the case in this present age. However one day it will be. So while you may like "claiming" you healing you claiming something may or may not have been given to you. EdB |
