Subject: claiming things in your life |
Bible Note: You have fallen for the lie. You equate material blessings to God's blessings. God does bless us materially but that is not what scripture is talking about. Scripture talks about eternal blessings things that aren't going to pass away one day. We are a blessed people is a blessed country materially but spiritually we focus on materialism rather than the truth of God. People in nations that have less than us and understand the true blessings of God pray that one day our eyes will be opened to the truth. This naming it claiming it is from the pit of hell. Satan wants our focus on material blessings so our eyes aren't on Christ. He wants us feeding our fleshly lust so we aren't feeding our spirit. Satan desires us to equate riches to God's blessings so we focus on getting rich rather than seeking God's blessings. Yes God will give us our heart desire but it up to us to insure our heart desires the right things. Too many want to feed fleshly lust instead of feeding the spirit. Our tithe is not a investment where we buy in and wait for God to make us rich. If we have our health then God has in fact opened the windows of heaven. If we have precious children then God has opened the windows of heaven. If we have a place to lay our heads then God has opened the windows of heaven. A Lexus or any car for that matter, is a purchase that degrades in value faster than anything short of a computer. A car is not a wise purchase but to most a necessity. The advertising firms have made a car a status symbol and sign of luxury. It is true we can bath ourselves in luxury but is also true we can live more humbly and share what we have. The "choice" is ours which do you think God would have us make? EdB |
