Bible Note: Janae - It is not my intent to take the "fun" out of discussing the word of God but to put the truth in it! No one is trying to "put down" your beliefs, Janae, or to launch an ad hominem attack against you. I have followed your posts and -- correct me if I am wrong -- what I hear you saying is that you interpret Isaiah 53 and other passages you have cited to be teaching that salvation is a package deal involving two elements, spiritual and physical healing. ..... I did not say that you were a Christian Scientist, but I did and do suggest that what you said in your post bears some resemblance to what they believe and teach. Let's keep this discourse on the level of biblical teaching, not personalities or personal feelings; on Bible study, not chatty "discussion." Janae, I bear neither ill will toward you nor wish to engender it in you or anyone else. I'm simply confused what seem to me incongruous and conflicting statements that you have posted regarding the relationship between spiritual healing and physical healing. I have taken some of your statements to be saying that salvation (spiritual healing) and physical healing are inter-dependent, i.e., that physcial healing is an integral and necessary element in salvation, i.e., spiritual healing. I merely am asking you kindly and respectfully to clarify your position in light of Scripture. You challenged my views and I responded to your challenge with scriptural support of those views. That's all I'm asking of you. --Hank |
