Bible Question: What does it mean by claiming things in to your life? |
Bible Answer: We have to be real careful with this. It is part of the “name it and claim it” teaching. While faith, attitude and emotions do effect us and we can to some degree bring on negative situations by dwelling on them. We do not have to live in fear of saying the wrong thing and ending up in some hideous situation. In reference to sickness This idea we can speak sickness and disease into and out of our life is stretching what the word says. Paul and the other Christians in the Bible when they were sick asked for prayer. James 5:13-15 (NKJV) 13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Again claiming things is part of the Name it claim it teaching and has been proven to have no foundation in the word of God. EdB |
