Scripture ... Malachi 3:10 context 3:1-18 ... So let us see is verse 10 applies to you verse 4 "Judah and Jerusalem" verse 6 "O sons of Jacob" verse 8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. Do you meet all these? I doubt it. Therefore, DO NOT claim Malachi 3:10 as fitting you. |

If you follow that line of thinking then there isn't much in the Bible that we can claim. Whether it be a promise or a command. To whom were the Ten Commandments addressed? Who was commanded to "go into all the world, preaching the gospel"? As you can see, this can become a very slippery slope. Perhaps we should look at the principles that God set forth. Principles such as sacrifice for atonement (animals in the OT, Christ in the NT), giving of our firstfruits, etc. If God's principles hold true in these areas they also hold true in the area of blessings. |

What you did with Malachi 3:10 is to take it out of context. Whether the Ten Commandments, Great Commission, atonement, giving of our firstfruits, or anythin else ... always look at the context. Looking at one verse out of context is pretext. Searcher |
