Scripture ... Malachi 3:10 context 3:1-18 ... So let us see is verse 10 applies to you verse 4 "Judah and Jerusalem" verse 6 "O sons of Jacob" verse 8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. Do you meet all these? I doubt it. Therefore, DO NOT claim Malachi 3:10 as fitting you. As I have pointed out before, God has provided you some of HIS wealth ... but you shouldn't tell (brag) about what you return to Him. Are you willing to give your Lexus away and drive something less ... or even bicycle or walk? Do you know what the tithe was for Israel? |

I am not bragging You ask me to tell you what I gave so I did now that I told you what I gave you tell me I am bragging. I pay tithes the amount is irrevelant and as for as my vehicle goes my brother has transportation issues so I let him drive the lexus until he gets everything straighten out. This has been going on for the last five weeks and he does not live in the same state has me so its not convenient for me to do it. Listen I am grateful and thankful for where God has allowed me to be in life and what he has allow me to accomplish and achieve. Israel tithe was 'A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD ; it is holy to the LORD . Leviticus 27:30 | ||||||

There were three tithes 1) The general tithe paid to the Levites (Num 18:21), who even tithed to the preists (vs 26). 2) The second tithe brought yearly to the tabernacle and eaten before the Lord (Deu. 12:6,7,17-19; 14:22-27) 3) The third tithe, every third year to promote hospitality and charity (Deu. 14:28,29; 26:12-15). |
