Subject: What is Free Will? |
Bible Note: Greetings Brother Barry, I don't wanna work so I'm going to bang on this drum all day. Matthew 22 (Jesus speaking) 14 "For many are invited, but few are chosen." John 15 (Jesus speaking) 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Matthew 11 26 Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. 27 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Romans 8 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Predestined, called, justified, glorified... this is God's process for salvation and sanctification. Nowhere does it say predestined, called, ANSWERED, justified, glorified. The process involves God working His sovereign will. His grace is sufficient. No RSVP required. We get to go along for the ride... the result of His grace alone... not because we are smart enough to choose yes. Even our choosing comes from Him. Enjoying the thoughts... keep it up!
