Subject: What is Free Will? |
Bible Note: Greetings Lion "I'm not sure" is probably my best answer at this point. If "my trying harder" implies that the power comes from me, then I would say that this would raise a issue of God's sovereignty in my actions. But if, as you say, "my trying harder" is God acting out His will in my life, then you are probably right. I think the problem is in the wording. When I think of the words "my trying harder", I think of something in which the power is coming from me... I am the engine that is pushing. The reality is (and I think we agree) that God is the engine that is driving, and we are the rail cars, each responsible for part of the load. I'm not sure that makes a lot of sense, but its the metaphor that came to mind. I am curious what you thought of the rest of my previous post in terms of the theology of sovereignty? Blessings, Curt |
