Subject: do we have any free will? |
Bible Note: Curt, in reference to your question concerning my question, it is commonplace on this website which is, after all, entitled StudyBibleForum, that one sees all manner of doctrinal and theological statements that are suppored by no scriptural reference. Occasionally, as in this case, I will ask the user to supply the forum with scriptural references, regardless of whether the statement appears to be grounded in Scripture. The inference may not be drawn from the question that I was in agreement or disagreement with the user's statement..... I myself grow lax and sloppy in some of my posts, making statement after statement that should be foot-noted by scriptural references. It's my feeling that no doctrinal or theological statement is worth a grain of salt unless it can be backed up solidly by the word of God..... Curt, you asked what I think about the price Jesus paid for our redemption. Do you remember the words to an old hymn..."Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe." That's what I think, Curt, and believe will all my heart. If you, Curt, were the only sinner in the world -- or if I -- Jesus would have gone to the cross and shed His precious blood, would have suffered the pangs of death, hell and the grave, just for you. Just for me. --Hank |
