Steve, Joe, Hank, I've been humbled by your comments :) I can't escape the truth of Steve's observations about my thin skin. I just thought that a Christian forum would be a bit different from the usual. Thanks everyone for encouraging comments. Thanks for your welcome to public (Christian)discourse, Joe. I'm usually talking with atheists about such matters, but I realize now that I'm going to have to tailor my words to suit and interact with a new audience. Take care, -Rob |

Rob (and others - you know who you are); Someday we're going to get together in Heaven and have a good laugh at ourselves. I have a feeling that once we meet Jesus face to face and see how big God really is, our disagreements, our confidence in our own understanding, and, yes, our hurt feelings are going to look just plain silly. Faithful, earnest, even passionate - but just a little foolish when examined in the light of that divine reality. I expect that, like Job, we'll all say "I was talking about things I did not understand, things far too wonderful for me. ... I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance." (Job 42:3-6, NLT) But in the meantime, let me tell you what was wrong with your last post.... :-) Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |

Steve, It's incredible that we always seem to forget so much regarding the scriptures that we've read. Job is one of my favorite books, but I had completely forgotten about the passage you quoted; moreover the context which you made it come sharply into focus. If this illustrates anything, it's that we all need each other. The infinite God reveals infinite wisdom from His Word, and it is too much for any single person to contain all at once. I thank God for you all, and for the richness of our Christian fellowship with one another. Take care, -Rob |
