Dear Joe, I seem to always be misunderstood in this forum, perhaps I won't post anymore. At no time did I go against anything you said--you only percieved that I did because we use different words. Your objection to my first question actually limits God by attributing "foresight" to Him instead of complete omniscience. Your objection to my second question misses the point completely, I asked if we share omniscience with God, in which the answer is no. You however pose a senseless objection in the form of a question: Again, is God someone who just KNOWS, or someone who CAUSES? The question is whether or not we share the knowledge of all events with God. Your objection to my fifth question is because I used the word "then" at the end of my sentence: Do we have complete free will to choose then? Absolutely. I used "then" to signify the culmination of my line of questioning (the end that was gradually led to). To make a long story short, it is possible to have a universe completely predetermined and known by One Being, while at the same time giving His creations free-will. This only seems to be a paradox to us, but it's not to God. Note: Quantum physics predicts that if an outcome is observed by anyone, it collapses all other possiblities and makes the outcome a reality. Ponder that for a moment. God Bless, Take care everyone. I won't be posting anymore. I can't say anything without having my words picked apart. Take care, Rob |

Greetings, Rob; I hope you don't carry through on your intention to not post anymore. Disclaimer: I don't speak for Hank or anyone else here. I hope you understand that there have been some very long threads with some very strange doctrines advocated with great passion but scant Biblical foundation. I think that has produced an air of argumentation where there is more often a spirit of healthy discourse. It does get a little rough and tumble sometimes. Probably more so than is altogether pleasing to our Lord (and I am as guilty as anyone here). Still, when "iron sharpens iron", some sparks are bound to fly. Anyway, I've enjoyed your posts. You seem to be a thoughtful and reasonable sort of chap, if just a little thin-skinned. :-) I hope you'll stick around and continue to bless us with your thoughts. Incidentally, Hank and I have been on opposite sides of some questions and on the same side of others. I assure you his bark is much worse than his bite and he's always worth listening to. Well, most of the time.... :-) Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |

Steve, Joe, Hank, I've been humbled by your comments :) I can't escape the truth of Steve's observations about my thin skin. I just thought that a Christian forum would be a bit different from the usual. Thanks everyone for encouraging comments. Thanks for your welcome to public (Christian)discourse, Joe. I'm usually talking with atheists about such matters, but I realize now that I'm going to have to tailor my words to suit and interact with a new audience. Take care, -Rob |

Rob (and others - you know who you are); Someday we're going to get together in Heaven and have a good laugh at ourselves. I have a feeling that once we meet Jesus face to face and see how big God really is, our disagreements, our confidence in our own understanding, and, yes, our hurt feelings are going to look just plain silly. Faithful, earnest, even passionate - but just a little foolish when examined in the light of that divine reality. I expect that, like Job, we'll all say "I was talking about things I did not understand, things far too wonderful for me. ... I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance." (Job 42:3-6, NLT) But in the meantime, let me tell you what was wrong with your last post.... :-) Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |

Steve, It's incredible that we always seem to forget so much regarding the scriptures that we've read. Job is one of my favorite books, but I had completely forgotten about the passage you quoted; moreover the context which you made it come sharply into focus. If this illustrates anything, it's that we all need each other. The infinite God reveals infinite wisdom from His Word, and it is too much for any single person to contain all at once. I thank God for you all, and for the richness of our Christian fellowship with one another. Take care, -Rob |
