Subject: need for a bible-anyone |
Bible Note: Dear Raven: If you are willing to dialogue this, and I do so with respect for you, I would ask some thing further. No disrespect or stirring of emotions involved, ok? In Acts 16:29-34. In this case the Prison jailer was told to Believe and you shall be saved. With no hesitation the Jailer and his family were baptized. So I can see your point. I have no problem with baptism being proof of the fact you have repented and are now saved. In fact when ever someone refuses to, then that is evidence that salvation has not really happened. Would we be together so far? The only issue I question is the final judge is of course is Jesus Christ. Right? As scripture says my ways are not His ways. I in no way I want you to think I see baptism as anything less than a required commitment that is instructed by The Lord to do. However I am willing to share Christ with some one who is quite near death and let the Lord make the judgement call on if that person is welcome or is to be departed to eternal punishment. For me, I believe my responsibility is to plant the seed. The growth is up to that person, and if I can assist them in growing that's good too. We may not be as far off as you think. I personally allow God to show mercy to whomever He so desires. God knows I surely do not deserve Salvation, I am unworthy! I walk by faith not by sight. Perhaps it is the aspect of allowing God to judge these situations is where I believe slightly from you. What do you honestly think? agape, justme |
