Subject: Mark 16:16 what does it say? |
Bible Note: Thanks, Brad, and greetings in the name of Christ Jesus. Your reference [to Eph. 4:2,3] is so apt and constitutes such an impelling model for all users of this forum, that I'm going to quote it in full and verbatim. Here's what it says, beginning with verse 1: "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."..... Years ago one of my sons, alas now deceased, was being a bit obstinate and obstreperous, as boys on occasion will be, and I came down uncharacteristically hard on his case. I shall never forget what he said to me. He said, "Dad, why do you have to talk so mean to me? I don't mind it when you correct me, but it sure makes it easier for me to obey you when you are kind and gentle when you do it." So you see, Brad, that word 'gentleness' in this passage of Scripture has a very special meaning for me. --Hank |
