Subject: Is God's will prosperity/healing always? |
Bible Note: Graceful Please accept my apology if you felt ganged up on. You came into the forum defending something I think you understood but in fact I think was very different than what you actually believe. The teachings you were defending are in fact heretical there is not denying it but again I do not for a minute believe they are what you really believe. I took the letter you wrote to Hank and addressed each statement you made please take the time to read it over and if there is anything you disagree with or don’t understand please let’s talk about them. I have confidence that God is my Father and that Jesus is my Lord and that the Holy Spirit has been given to me to reveal the Word of God to me Spirit to spirit. MY COMMENT: That is a very healthy statement of faith. I believe God through His word has provided all that I need to do the work I am called to do. I believe that divine provision, be that finances or healing, has been made and where I am all I need can be found. MY COMMENT: That is true because you included the words “called to do”. When we are in God’s service and will God will meet our every need. I believe that as I grow and step by faith the Holy Spirit will reveal gaps that give satan access to my life, property, or health and show me the way to victory. If you believe you are vulnerable to satan and that he is God's instrument of discipline, that is okey. MY COMMENT: Grace no Christian should feel God uses Satan to discipline us. But God does discipline us. And Satan can and does attack through no fault of our own. We live in a fallen world , look at Paul he was flogged, shipwrecked, beaten, and stoned, He was sick and hungry and many times without a place to stay. And if you believe we are called to simply be an example to the world on how to endure satan's attacks, that is okey. MY COMMENT: Grace many times our example in trials and adversity is exactly what wins the world. Rome was not won by what the Christian’s said but rather by how they died. We are called to be whatever God would have us be. I do not. I believe Jesus gave us authority over satan and any and all of his devices. MY COMMENT: Christ did not give you authority over anything, He gave you the right to use His name that has authority over everything. That authority aligns and submits Itself with the will of God. If it is God’s will to allow Satan to sift us or others it will happen. If you believe the curse from the fall still has authority over you that too is okey..I do not. I believe Jesus came for the purpose of setting me free and giving me authority over satan, the curse and the flesh. MY COMMENT: The curse of the fall was sin not Satan’s authority over us. Jesus set us free from sin, Satan still seeks to kill steal and destroy. We still live in a fallen world where rotten things happen to wonderful people. If it were not so we would have no need of a new earth and heaven, where there will be no more sickness, sorrow, pain, or death. I also believe that to walk in that is a choice each beliver must make for themselves. MY COMMENT: Is it not the responsibility of all believers if they see a brother walking in error to try to show them the light. I will try very hard in the future not to enter these kinds of debates any more because it is impossible to communicate to people who have presuppositions about one's belief, because presuppositions constantly interject conclusions that are not stated. (ie If I believe divine healing is provided through the redemptive work of Jesus I can't possibly believe God is sovereign. Or..If I believe God obligated Himself by entering covenant with man I do not believe He is sovereign.)These conclusions are false. MY COMMENT: I don’t think anyone said because you believed in divine healing you couldn’t believe that God is sovereign. I think what was said was believing God has to heal everyone all the time at our command removes God’s sovereignty. Again I don’t think anyone said the God’s covenant did not obligate (though I would choose a different word) God to certain things. Yes God did promise us salvation if we believe in Jesus Christ. No He did not promise us a bed of roses once we became Christians. If it were so what would be the draw of heaven? If this earth can be free of sickness, pain, and even the works of Satan why would we desire Heaven? Let us never forget though God did promise to see us through life’s trials. Grace please read what I said and see it we aren’t on the same page. EdB |
