NASB | Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 6:4 We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways]. |
Subject: What if you don't obey that command? |
Bible Note: Regardless of when you were baptized the "gospel of Christ" that was preached by John the Baptist, Jesus, the apostles, and the disciples (witnesses) was a gospel that when they heard and believed they repented and were baptized immediately and soon filled with the Holy Spirit. I see this example repeatedly from Matthew through Acts. Are the lost hearing that same gospel they preached? Why wouldn't we want to be buried with him in baptism into death, that we may be raised to the newness of life, unless this part of the gospel was not preached. |
