NASB | Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. |

Subject: What if you don't obey that command? |
Bible Note: All those who obey Him have eternal salvation. Obedience is an evidence of genuine saving faith. Obedience is the result, not the cause, of salvation. Nothing in Hebrews 5:9 indicates otherwise. Hebrews 5:9 '*obey Him.* True salvation evidences itself in obedience to Christ, from the initial obedience to the gospel command to repent and believe (compare Acts 5:32; Rom. 1:5; 2 Thess 1:8; 1 Pet. 1:2,22;4:17) to a life patern of obedience to the Word (cf. Rom. 6:16)' (MacArthur Study Bible). |
