AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 1:20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense. Subject: Is God somehow responsible? |
Bible Note: Dear Hank, "Come forth, if you can, with a sound, cogent reason why their continuance is justified." Because I believe that they present (as far as human writing can) an accurate and systematic means of biblical interpretation. If I, or anyone else, were presenting these claims without a sound scriptural basis, then I would agree that it should cease. But that is not the case. If it were only calvinists that initiated all of of these questions or notes, you may have a point. But this is not the case. If calvinism was a narrow theology that touched on a few minor doctrines, then, perhaps, it may be possible to engage in discussion without being seriously hampered. But calvinism is a theology that has existed within christian faith for 500 years and was believed as sound teaching by the majority of the church for hundreds of years after the Reformation. There are few doctrines that are uninformed by Calvinism (Reformed Theology). If it were a crack-pot doctrine that only the naive or ignorant would believe, you might have a case. But, it has been believed and taught by some of the greatest theologians and preachers that God has raised up since the first century. You may as well ask a reformed person to stop talking about the bible itself as to ask him to leave his theology outside the forum. It's impossible. I am happy to hear you bear no hard feelings toward me personly. It is good for brothers to live in peace. I suggest we elimenate the rhetoric and concentrate on digging for gold that does not perish. Peace, John Reformed |
