AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 1:20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense. Subject: Is God somehow responsible? |
Bible Note: Beva I'm sorry I thought it was someone else responding to me putting me in the class of men spoken about in Jude. Again my most humble apology to you and John whom I accused. Back to the subject, yes there are instances where God hardened man's heart. However I’m convince we as humans fail to understand all the dynamics and ramifications of what really took place. Much more was at stake than the personal salvation of that person at that time. In most instances God allowed this to happen for a specific purpose or reason also in most cases it effected the whole nation of Israel. However that is not the general flow of the Bible. The Bible is a story of God reaching to man and man either rejecting or withdrawing from God. Someone said God does not love all, just the saved, yet while we ALL were yet in sin God reached out in love and sent His only begotten Son. This is the true picture of God throughout the Bible. Not of a God that has harden the hearts of all men so only those that he foreordains can hear and accept. Election as spoken about in the Bible is not the process of God selecting but rather knowing who would return God’s love with theirs. This issue has been debated by many over centuries, there are as many scriptures that proof text Calvinism as there are Arminianism. However I believe if we will move higher than ‘a verse here and a verse there’, and look at the overall message of the Bible we will see a God that desires none to perish but to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus. We also see a God that moves in love to touch the heart and soul of man rather than manipulate the will of man. However all this ground has been plowed as I said for centuries. It does little good to re-plow. I now ask all good Calvinist to explain why Mormons seek Jesus for forgiveness through grace imputed to them by God albeit theirs is not the Lord Jesus of the Bible? It seems they understand and accept everything that all good Calvinist claim fallen man can’t, they have just been deceived and look to the wrong Jesus. EdB |
