Bible Question: I just discovered this thread on suicide. I would like to share my view of what the Word says. Judas was not lost because of suicide but because he was not a believer to begin with. Jesus didn't "lose" anyone that the Father gave to him. Judas was there to fulfill scripture. Look at John 13:18. Also, we can know Judas was not a believer because Satan entered into him (John 13:27) and anyone who belongs to the Lord cannot be possessed by Satan. I know this will probably open up another dialog for discussion :) Love In Christ, Hugger P.S. No one is lost by any one sin but by not accepting Christ into their hearts. Blessings :) |
Bible Answer: I strongly disagree. Jesus said himself in his prayer that none of the ones that God gave him was lost "save" which means except, the son of perdition. Will you deny something Jesus said himself. Even though it is scripture that Jesus would be betrayed it could have been any of the twelve. It didn't say Judas would betray him in the prophecy just that he would be betrayed. Yes Satan did enter into Judas but not because he wasn't a believer to begin with but because there wasn't a spirit dwelling within him since the Holy Spirit had not been introduced as an indweller. Only a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit can withstand possesion. My computer keeps tearing me from finding the scripture that I base my point on but I will find it and write another note.
