Bible Note: I couldn't disagree more. IF a person has been born again is sealed until the day of redemption (when they get a new body). Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, Eph 1:14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory. Look at these verses: John 6:37-40 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." Also, the following: John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one." For more on sealing of the Holy Spirit see Ephesians 4:30 and IICor.1:22. There are many times that we sin and are not even aware of it. Our knowledge of sin is based on our knowledge of scripture. If a person is a new believer they may not be aware of their sins. Over time the Holy Spirit will reveal these areas by conviction (usually by using Biblical truth). In the meantime Rom 8:26-27 "In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." Notice in these verses that it is the Spirit who is interceding. And "He who searches the hearts" (Our Heavenly Father) "knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." Notice also that the Spirit's intercession is with "groanings too deep for words". I don't believe this is referring to us praying is tongues, but intercession of the Holy Spirit through His oneness with the Father. The Father knows what the mind of the Spirit is so He doesn't have to verbalize this intercession. I hope some of this makes sense to you. I feel like I've been rambling. Regards, Jim D. |
