Bible Question (short): Protecting the Unborn?

Question (full): The protection of children in the womb, has become an overlooked part of this presidential election. There have been many who dislike the Republican who is running. I have struggled and been attacked for standing with the Party solely for the reason of protecting unborn children. Can anyone tell me how to view this any other way?
