Greetings Grace and Truth. Tim Moran gave you excellent answers and I agree completely with him. I find it interesting that your screen name is Grace and Truth. Much of what you are concerned about smacks of legalism - the law(Truth) without Grace. You contend that one cannot be saved apart from water baptism. This is a "works based" approach which Jesus came to do away with! Why would anyone want to impose the "law" when the gift of salvation has been freely offered by GRACE to those who simple believe? "For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ." John 1:17 The ORDER here is very important; so is the order of BELIEVE and be BAPTIZED. I know many people who are "completely saved" by their faith in Jesus Christ who have yet to enter the waters of baptism for one reason or another. I KNOW that I will see them in heaven whether or not they have been immersed before their physical death or the Rapture of the church. Maybe God will let them wear a sign saying "unbaptized believers" so you will recognize them too!Truly I empathize with your passion for what you believe, but please don't impose your rules upon those who do not subscribe to this "doctrine!" I'm glad that God is the Judge! I'll continue to place my confidence in HIS GRACE and TRUTH, not the brand that you are peddling! |

IS THAT RIGHT, SHOW US IN THE BOOK OF ACTS WHERE SOMEONE WENT MORE THAN ONE HOUR AFTER BELIEVING THE WORD, AND WAS NOT BAPTIZED! JUST ONE PERSON! HEB 9:15-17 IS WHEN THE LAW OF CHRIST WAS IN AFFECT. |

Your challenged: "SHOW US IN THE BOOK OF ACTS WHERE SOMEONE WENT MORE THAN ONE HOUR AFTER BELIEVING THE WORD, AND WAS NOT BAPTIZED! JUST ONE PERSON!" Here is one person, and quite a significant one at that! After his encounter with the Lord, Saul(Paul) was in Damascus for THREE DAYS (ACTS 9:9) prior to being baptized. See Acts 17:34. Dionysius and Damaris became believers, (and others) but there is no mention of their being water baptized. Now, please answer the question Tim Moran asked of you! |

You say three days, I say one hour! And it started when Ananias went in the house. Let's look at the text: Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord (what wilt thou have me to do)? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, (and it shall be told thee what thou MUST do). The Lord himself told him that he had to obey what Ananias told him he MUST do the same hour! vs17-18; Acts22:10, Jesus told him what he Must do. Acts22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Paul himself said he was told to be baptized and wash away his sins. Is there any importants to him be baptized? Was his sins gone prior to him being told to have them washed away? Did Ananias tell him what Jesus said for him to do or did he make it up himself? In Acts 22:16 tells me that Jesus meant what he said in Mark 16:16, Baptism is very important to him! In Matt 21:23-27 I believe this answers the question on the latter part of Mark 16:16, vs24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things. vs.25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, FROM HEAVEN; He will say unto us (Why did ye not then believe him?) This verse shows "but he that believeth not shall be damned" Mark 16:16b. Luke 7:29-30 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, JUSTIFIED God, being BAPTIZED with the baptism of John. (Jesus is Greater than John)! vs.30 But the Pharisees and lawyers REJECTED THE COUNSEL OF GOD, AGAINST THEMSELVES, BEING (NOT BAPTIZED OF HIM). We know this is the baptism of repentance, unto the remission of sins. But Mark 16:16 is the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Now we can see clearly what Jesus is telling men and women to do in this verse, those who will not believe of corse will not be baptized. Belief is connected with being baptized and that cannot be denied! Matt 21:25; Luke 7:29-30. |

It 'started' my friend when the Risen Christ appeared to Saul of Tarsus on the road! It most assuredly didn't 'start' with Ananias. --Hank

Could be wrong about this, but the statement that Saul of Tarsus saw the "Risen Christ" on the road, or the "Risen Christ" appeared to Saul, may not be exactly true. According to my understanding, Paul "heard" the voice of Jesus but did not actually "see" Jesus. Unless "blinding light" is acceptable for "appearing"....?
