1 | Is God's will prosperity/healing always? | Rom 8:28 | inmyheart | 67663
EdB, Greetings, thanks for responding, but I'm not going to buy into your name calling. You have already stated how feel about the doctrine you believe in, so there is no value to continue. Instead of me rethinking what I've been taught, why don't you re-read the terms of use on this forum. God bless |

2 | Is God's will prosperity/healing always? | Rom 8:28 | EdB | 67673
Inmyheart I did not name call. I stated the conclusion that Epaphroditus brought his disease upon himself was baloney. I was not talking to or about you or anyone else just the teaching. There is absolutely nothing in scripture to support the position that Epaphroditus got sick working too hard. As to what you believe, let me say I pray your eyes will be open, and I pray you were given things to think about. That said, it is the responsibility of every Christian on this forum to challenge and correct any unsupported, or non orthodox teaching presented here. That is not a violation of the forum guidelines in fact the forum guidelines were written to insure that is exactly what happens. EdB |

3 | Is God's will prosperity/healing always? | Rom 8:28 | inmyheart | 67686
EdB, This is what I posted; Verse 30 says, "Because of the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me." Epaphroditus overworked! See those words "not regarding his life"? Epaphroditus made a choice to continue to work when he should have stopped. There were not many people helping Paul at this time so Epaphroditus pushed himself to "supply your lack of service" (or, "take up the slack," "make up the difference"). Epaphroditus pushed himself too far – that is all there is to it. This is what you posted; inmyheart That is WOF baloney!!!! They place the blame for a sickness on the person rather admitting what they teach is in error. Why do you put me in the WOF cart? And I'm not saying that is a bad cart to be in, but never did I mention "this is what the WOF believes and therefore this is the conclusion I support." Then you state; "As to what you believe, let me say I pray your eyes will be open, and I pray you were given things to think about." What do "you" want me to believe!!! You pray that my eyes will be open---to what you believe!!! As mentioned, I gave my conclusion and supported it with scripture. God bless |

4 | Is God's will prosperity/healing always? | Rom 8:28 | EdB | 67765
inmyheart I'm sorry I jumped to a wrong conclusion if it be so. The answer or reason you gave for Epaphroditus’ being sick was that it was his fault from working too hard. This is standard WOF logic since they state a Christian should never get sick. When WOF teachers are confronted with Job or in this case Epaphroditus they try to make it seem like the it is the person’s fault rather than the fact we live in a fallen world. I have heard this false reasoning so long that I just assumed you were reporting WOF propaganda. If you read the passage again you will see the reason for Epaphroditus’ sickness is not given and most likely had nothing to do with his work for the Lord. The reason that sickness almost killed him was in fact he was working to hard while sick. The fact remains Epaphroditus was a Christian and he got sick, this violates WOF teaching that all good Christians so should never get sick. If that wasn’t what you were trying to present then I do owe you an apology and I am very sorry. However if in fact what you were saying was Epaphroditus brought his sickness on himself from working to hard then your making assumptions that aren’t in the Word. I was praying you eyes would be open that you would see this was false assumption and that you would see the truth, sometimes good Christians do get sick. There is absolutely nowhere in the Bible that says otherwise. In fact James 5:14 tells Christians what they need to do to get healed if they do get sick. I call it a holy prescription. :-) Be Blessed EdB |
