1 | What are the "works of God"? | Rom 6:4 | kalos | 56877
"The observance of the Law has nothing to do with justification." What part of this do you not understand? NASB Romans 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. AMPLIFIED Romans 3:28 For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law). [The observance of the Law has nothing to do with justification.] For the record, the fundamental Bible doctrine you are attacking is that we are saved by Grace alone through Faith alone in Christ alone. If anyone wants to put himself under a system of works-righteousness, he will find that the doors to the Roman Catholic church are wide open. You accuse me of attacking a passage of Scripture. Lying and making personal attacks against me will not prove your argument. I have never "attacked" a passage of Scripture. What I challenge are your unsound, unfounded, un-scriptural speculative fantasies. Take care that you you do not continue to post personal attacks and submit posts "as an effort to foster divisiveness, ill-will, dissension or other disruptions to this forum". For if you do, you risk losing the privilege of posting to this forum. To quote Hank: "The members of this forum, by and large, come here to study and increase their knowledge and understanding of Scripture. Accordingly, though it may come as a shock to you, they are not remotely interested in reading unsound, unfounded, un-scriptural or extra-scriptural far-out notions of users who offer no credentials and no other viable reasons why they should be allowed to spout off with just any opinion that happens to pop into their heads." |

2 | What are the "works of God"? | Rom 6:4 | Aspiring Overseer | 56913
Is 1:18 adjures God's people to reason together with Him. Why do you feel that a viewpoint which is contrary to the commonly held notion should not be given a fair hearing? I will remind you that I am not the one making personal attacks. I just appear to be in the minority on this forum. If you were offended by anything I have written, it was not my intent. P. S. FYI, the "works of the Law" you refer to in Romans 3:28 are the works of the Law of Moses, not the works of the Law of Faith. Two different covenants; two different laws. |
