1 | When does newness of life start? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56090
Will some please address this verse in rom. 6:4 When does newness of life start?
2 | When does newness of life start? | Rom 6:4 | christian7 | 56096
The Bible is Right...the momment that we give our life to Jesus we start a new life...its called the new birth as in John 3 when we are born of the spirit...2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,he is a new creature:old things are passed away;behold, all things are become new...you may look like the same person on the outside but the minute that you recieve Jesus as your Savior your newness of life starts...consider that person dead is what the Lord is telling us...the new life that we live is for the Lord...our past life is not who we are anymore...we are to be dead to sins...before our salvation we were alive in sin, living anyway the devil wanted us to...God forbid we should live like that in our new life(Romans 6:2)...just a little testamony in that I hate the person I was before Jesus saved me...when I recieved Jesus I was glad that person died...soon after I got Baptized, and have been going full blast since then...Thank the Lord for the new life...when does it start...the minute you ask Jesus to come into your heart...God Bless
3 | Isn't this verse saying that we rise to | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56101
Is that what the verse says in Rom 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Isn't this verse saying that we rise to walk in newness of life? So when we are baptized and we come up out of the water, that's our resurrection, then we walk in newness of life? vs. 5 For "if" we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: vs 6 Knowing this, that out "old man" is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. vs.7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. So where in the bible is that you are saying? |

4 | Isn't this verse saying that we rise to | Rom 6:4 | christian7 | 56133
The Bible is Right...we sure do rise to walk in a newness of life...and I am a true believer in that we should be baptized...but our salvation and newness of life begins when we "die" to our old self and start our new life through Jesus Christ...if you recieved the Lord on a Monday, and did not get baptized until Sunday,do you begin your new life on Sunday after your baptized or on the Monday when you recieved Jesus into your heart...the answer would be on Monday for this is when you died to the old self...now in the scripture our baptism is an outward expression of an inward action that has taken place, you rise to walk in newness of life as soon as you recieve Jesus...the result of your newness of life will be wanting to follow what the Lord wants you to do(repent and be baptised)which represents the likeness of His death, burial, and resurrection...and also communion which represents his body and bloodshed for us...I would recomend reading these scriptures and then compare them with Romans 6:4...Romans 7:6,2Corinthians 5:17.,Gal 6:15,,Eph 4:23and Col 3:10...as for the resurrection I will get back to you on that as I must go for right now...God Bless
5 | So should you wait until next Sunday? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56138
The answer is in the verse that's under disgussion, if you use the example that you gave about Monday to the next Sunday, there are no examples of that in the bible, God demans a responce from us now! not when we want to. Rom 6:5 it uses the word "if we" have been planted together with Christ in the likeness of his death, "we shall" be also in the likeness of his resurrection. So if you except him on Monday, and you wait until Sunday, all that time you will not be in the likeness of his resurrection! And not walking in the "newness of life"! And thus still dead. Rom 6:2; Col 2:13; Rom. 6:11; Eph 2:1,5-6 Here in vs.6 in Eph 2 it says: And hath "raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Then the next verse says we are saved by grace, what needs to be understood is "we are raised first to walk in the newness of life". vs.6! So should you wait until next Sunday?
6 | So should you wait until next Sunday? | Rom 6:4 | christian7 | 56150
The Bible is Right...your original question was when does newness of life start...I said the moment that you recieve Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior...Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved....I would not want to put off baptism so please don't miss understand me...but our newness of life begains at our conversion...there are many in the jails, nursing homes, hospitals,at the sceen of accidents,in planes crashing that dont have the oppertunity to be baptised before death but have called upon the name of the Lord...I believe they are walking in the newness of life...as far as putting of following what the Lord wants us to do...well, I will let God judge their thoughts and the intents of their hearts...God Bless
7 | So should you wait until next Sunday? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56187
"I will let God judge their thoughts and the intents of their hearts" "there are many in the jails, nursing homes, hospitals,at the sceen of accidents,in planes crashing that dont have the oppertunity to be baptised before death but have called upon the name of the Lord...I believe they are walking in the newness of life...as far as putting of following what the Lord wants us to do". With the above people in these conditions, jails, nursing homes, hospitals, all can request to be baptized, but a crashing planes or car accidents where it don't look like the people will make it they are in God's hands. |
