1 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | FisH | 3664
That is just my point, brother. Rom. 1 There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Your right and then go to chapter 8 there is nothing that can separate us from His love. Nothing! You are mistaken your self brother. Your are confused when you mix all these verse to gether from the old and New Testament that have nothing at all to do with each other and the subjest being discussed. I not being harsh but us scripture in its context only. Do not use verse to prove a point out of there context. Make sure you know what they mean where they are before you use them somewhere else. Again I am not trying to be mean at all. I just want to help. |

Dear FisH: Thank you for an excellent, accurate, Biblical answer. Some Bible "experts" apparently are full of Bible verses and quotations, but unfortunately have no idea what the words in those Bible verses mean.

I agree it is important to use God's word correctly if we are going to use at all. I weary of those folks who just keep throwing out verses to prove a point or teach a doctrine that have nothing whatsoever to do with the point or doctrine in they are teaching. I believe strongly in useing God's word in it's context. If we who believe in useing God's Word in it's contest, keep it in front of our brothers and sister out there who tend to use verses out of context maybe we can help them better understand God's Word. So you are a proclaimer of Faith alone in Christ alone. So am I! If you read many of my postings, this will soon become obvious. My FIRST teaching, whether when teaching a class or in posting to the Forum, is simply: Salvation is by Grace alone through Faith alone in Christ alone. Way to go, FisH. My favorite scripture verse: Rom 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. (See also Eph 2:8-9) . . . I agree entirely with your previous posting. Well put! Keep on being faithful to the Word. Let God be true, and every man a liar. . . . The most basic principle of interpretation, one which many post-ers either will not or cannot (because they don't understand it?) abide by, is that which John MacArthur writes of: "One of the basic principles of biblical interpretation is the *analogia scriptura*, the analogy of Scripture. In other words, we must compare Scripture with Scripture in order to understand its full and proper sense. And SINCE THE BIBLE DOESN'T CONTRADICT ITSELF, ANY INTERPRETATION OF A SPECIFIC PASSAGE THAT CONTRADICTS THE GENERAL TEACHING OF THE BIBLE IS TO BE REJECTED." (Emphasis by capitalization is mine.) |

Yes, JVH, I'm with you all the way. I am also a member of the ' Grace Evangelical Society ' Their web site is at,-- http://www.faithalone.org/. It's a great ministry and they are strong on, Faith alone in Christ alone. If we come to a passage that contradict another passage we had better rethink, restudy, and start all over again. Because scripture always agrees. I'm big on context if we stay in context rarely will we have a problem. I main tain that most of the problem with the teaching in the Church to day is, hermeneutices. The application of principles that make the Bible clear. Some times I'm reluctant to say this because it can become a point of contention but I'm also a dispensationalist. It is not something I make a big deal about to other. But I will argue to the death ' Faith Alone In Christ Alone. You know what, JVH, I just love the Bible and studing this wonderful Book. Honestly I can't get enough of it. I have had just recently the Lord answer a prayer about something I wanted to understand. He was good enough to let me get a little better understanding and it is wonderful. My point is that God wants us to center our understand of this life from the perspective of His Word doen't He? God Bless you Brother. FisH |
