1 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | HeirofGod | 186664
Forgive me for my lack of revelation. I was just saved then and zealous. Now! Repentance whipes your slate clean. The bible says that if we confess with our mouths the lord Jesus and believe in our hearts that God has raised him from the dead that we are saved. Repentance does not mean go through and remember every sin and say i'm sorry. Repentance is a point where you know you have practiced sin and turn away from it knowing that you need Jesus for that. Confession is after repentance and is for the believer that has committed a sin. Not practice sin. Suicide is wrong and brings about judgement. I do not believe that a believer can commit suicide. (if you do your not believing anymore) I'm not talking about saying I believe in Jesus. I'm talking about a person who lives the life everyday. (God knows) He told us that he has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. People who commit suicide have let go of all those things and have therefore come out of the arch of safety. When your mind is gone astray you have left yourself open for the enemy. The mind is the battlefield and that is where people who do that loose the battle. Being blessed sometimes is just Gods way of saying I know you still need to see where I am and what I think of you. (Grace and Mercy) Yes God knows everything that we need but we have to ask for salvation and confess when we have done wrong. You need life for that and dead people don't have it. God doesn't just forgive you, if that was the case why did you get saved and start living right in the first place? This is where people who live raggedy lives mess it up for the people who are watching us. They think they can get away with whatever and God will just let it go, because he really doen't want to send people to hell. But!!! He doesn't send you. You send yourself. Grace is the Age we are living in. Longsuffering from God. We are saved by grace but you have to look at Acts 2. God would not say repent and be baptised if you didn't really have to do it. What is the blood for if remission of sins is just because of Grace. Sorry I can't go with you on that.
2 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | Hank | 186680
Dear Heir - It's good to hear from you after so long a time. You registered on this Forum in the early days of 2001, just days before I did. ..... You began this post with a disclaimer for your lack of revelation. Why? If you have a complete copy of the Bible, you have 66 divinely inspired books, the complete revelation of God to man, and that's all anyone has, friend. ...... You've been hanging around the Forum long enough to know that posts which are heavy on opinion and light on scriptural proof to back it up have a hard time of getting off the ground. So, if you still want to maintain that your views on suicide are correct, then it becomes your burden to furnish clear scriptural proof that they are. ...... But any discussion of suicide in connection with soteriology invariably involves a major Christian doctrine, that of the eternal security of the believer. One must ask whether the canopy of grace has boundaries and exceptions. One must ask what, if anything, he must DO in order to maintain his salvation. Must one try to master the art of repentance so that he can keep ahead of his sins by repenting of them swiftly and regularly? Finally, does not your position on suicide make it tantamount to the unpardonable sin? Yet suicide clearly was not what Jesus spoke about in Matthew 12:31. In fact, in this verse Jesus said, "All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men" (KJV). Thus to posit that suicide cannot be forgiven makes Jesus' words of no effect. ..... Young friend, please rethink your position and consider amending your post by the issuance of a new one -- a new one that is based solidly on Scripture instead of opinion. --Hank
3 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | HeirofGod | 186681
Thank you for your words of comfort but I can't let go of what God revealed to me was right. We have all put our opinions in and we must say that we are going to agree to disagree. I have responded to this three times today. Most of us that are talking about this have never been at the point of suicide or tried. Well I have and i know what i'm talking about. Suicide involves pride and that is against God. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. This will be the last reply to this. Love in Christ, HeirofGod |

4 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | BuzSmith | 186682
Suicide is a sin. When was a believer's sins forgiven? Romans 5:8 - "..while we were yet sinners (to be).." Suicide is the epitomy of poor stewardship to say the least. Suicide is not the "unforgivable sin!"
