1 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | HeirofGod | 469
God does not forgive suicide because the person who committed the sin can not ask for forgiveness afterwards. God can forgive you for commiting a murder to another person if you live to repent, but if there is no life left in your body to repent you are not forgiven. The bible says you have not because you ask not. If you can't ask you can't get it.

I disagree with what you said. If we must ask for forgiveness for every sin, then no one would be saved. I cannot remember every single sin I have ever commited in my life, therefore I will not be able to ask for forgiveness for those sins. Take a look at Mark 3:28-30. You can still get something if you don't ask for it. God knows everything that we need, even if we don't know it. God blesses us however He wants to. God has blessed me in more ways than I could even imagine to ask for. We are not saved because of repentance. We are saved because of God's grace (see ephesians 2:8, 9) |

Forgive me for my lack of revelation. I was just saved then and zealous. Now! Repentance whipes your slate clean. The bible says that if we confess with our mouths the lord Jesus and believe in our hearts that God has raised him from the dead that we are saved. Repentance does not mean go through and remember every sin and say i'm sorry. Repentance is a point where you know you have practiced sin and turn away from it knowing that you need Jesus for that. Confession is after repentance and is for the believer that has committed a sin. Not practice sin. Suicide is wrong and brings about judgement. I do not believe that a believer can commit suicide. (if you do your not believing anymore) I'm not talking about saying I believe in Jesus. I'm talking about a person who lives the life everyday. (God knows) He told us that he has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. People who commit suicide have let go of all those things and have therefore come out of the arch of safety. When your mind is gone astray you have left yourself open for the enemy. The mind is the battlefield and that is where people who do that loose the battle. Being blessed sometimes is just Gods way of saying I know you still need to see where I am and what I think of you. (Grace and Mercy) Yes God knows everything that we need but we have to ask for salvation and confess when we have done wrong. You need life for that and dead people don't have it. God doesn't just forgive you, if that was the case why did you get saved and start living right in the first place? This is where people who live raggedy lives mess it up for the people who are watching us. They think they can get away with whatever and God will just let it go, because he really doen't want to send people to hell. But!!! He doesn't send you. You send yourself. Grace is the Age we are living in. Longsuffering from God. We are saved by grace but you have to look at Acts 2. God would not say repent and be baptised if you didn't really have to do it. What is the blood for if remission of sins is just because of Grace. Sorry I can't go with you on that.

Hello Heir, The problem with your theology is that it requires a lot of assumption and a lot more in the way of disregarding plain scriptural teaching. Although I am personally convinced that it is impossible for you to support your argument with Scripture (which you haven't really even attempted to do)the call still must go out requesting that you do attempt to do so. Either that or refrain from teaching what the Scriptures do not teach. This is a forum dedicated to bible study, not opinion trumpeting. You might start with pointing to the place in Scripture where suicide is revealed to be the unpardonable sin. Nothing more really need be said on the matter until that single point is established. Perhapse it's better to let this thread simply rest, afterall, it originated over six years ago. Just a suggestion. God bless, Jeff |

7 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Ex 20:13 | stjohn | 186738
Amen, And, may I add, Justice and sovereignty, are sometimes little understood by the immature Christian. I remember very well, reading the story of Lot, and thinking that he was lost to eternal damnation. Only to find in Peter's epistle, that he was righteous?-! Hmm. God; evidently, can do as He pleases, with whom he pleases! He can take, or bring, if you please, a child of His home, by whatever means He sees fit, no-mater what it may 'look' like, or 'feel' like , to the onlooker. Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-5, are another prime exsample of His soverenty. Thanks. God bless. John |

I agree, and while I like to believe that I am always maturing as a Christian, I must admit that I don't fully comprehend the justice, the sovereignty, and other characteristics of our God. What I mean is, while I believe I have a good grip on the meanings of these and how they apply to God in general, I continue to be surprised at times in discovering them demonstrated in Scripture. God bless, Jeff |

Amen Jeff, His grace and mercy never ceases to amaze! It seems to just go, the deeper we go, the deeper it gets. Rom 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! God bless.John |
