Bible Note: Greetings Huron! Excellent response my friend! I always enjoy these discussions about the KJV. While I love the KJV (I grew up with it), it is just a translation like any other translation. Many seem to forget (or simply don't know) that the translators had to determine a Greek text (just like modern translators do). In that process, they had to make decisions about what belonged and what did not belong (just like modern translators do). The only problem was that they only had a handful of relatively late manuscripts (most of which came from the same family) to base these decisions upon. Now, we have literally thousands of manuscripts with which to work, some of them being much older than those with which the KJV had to work. So, one could make the argument that the modern translations aren't 'changing' God's Word, but eliminating the 'changes' made by the KJV's inclusion of questionable texts. :-) Keep up the good work!
