Bible Note: Greetings John! So, are you saying that in the five places I listed that this phrase occurs that it only means intellectual understanding? I don't think that makes sense of the context of these passages. Does God only want men to have an intellectual knowledge (1 Tim. 2:4)? Does intellectual knowledge follow repentance (2 Tim. 2:25)? Are the depraved people of 2 Tim. 3:7 incapable of possessing an intellectual knowledge? I just don't see that this phrase can be interpreted as only referring to an intellectual knowledge.
