Subject: I have a related question for anyone... |
Bible Note: I take it that your position is: Salvation is up to man. God merely offers it as an option that man may freely reject or accept according to his whim. If this were true then the atheist poet was right when he penned: " I amthe master of my fate. The captain of my soul." How depressing. You must have a great deal of faith in yourself! I have no faith in myself. On a daily basis, I think, say and do those things that I know are not pleasing to God. You may find this hard to believe but I find that I do things that I hate. In fact, If I find myself doing good I thank Him for the grace He gave me to do it! If I believed that my salvation rested on myself, not a day would pass that I would'nt wonder if this might be the day I would stumble and be lost for all eternity. Why then do I feel such sadness for those who have such great self-confidence? And why such joy in my weakness? These thoughts of mine are not meant to be sarcatic or demeaning to anyone. They stem from a heartfelt concern for those who place there hope for heaven anywhere else than upon Christ Jesus our Lord. The reason I have no fear of ever rejecting His love is that old things have passed away and I am now a NEW CREATURE! I have a new heart of flesh, upon which God has written His law so that I might obey it. Jesus is the author and finisher of my faith and I look to HIM TO KEEP ME! NOT TO ME TO KEEP HIM! Please pardon me if my words offend. They were meant to help. John John |
