Subject: I have a related question for anyone... |
Bible Note: Greetings Ray! You asked my opinion in another post, but I'll respond here for simplicity sake! :-) I don't see how 'the One who' could work. The article which you seem to have translated in this manner is a Feminine, Singular, Genitive and must be associated with either 'godliness', 'truth', and/or 'faith'. I really don't see anyway that it can refer back to Christ. But, the phrase is definitely not an easy one to articulate into English. Is Paul saying that the knowledge of truth leads to godliness or is he saying that he is an apostle through faith and the godly knowledge of truth? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
