Bible Note: Greetings Teacher! Good try, but not quite! You said that faith include obedience by definition. So, you need to show me a Scripture which defines faith as obedience. The verses you quote refer to listening to or obey the faith, but do not define faith as including obedience. There is a verb 'believe' and a noun 'faith'. When we do the verb, we are saved. However, the noun can refer to the message or the context of the message. This is what the verses I quoted from Rom. 10 were talking about. We need to hear the message and respond. However, none of these verses say that obedience is faith or that faith includes obedience by definition. In fact, Rom. 1:5 makes the point that I have been making all along that faith results in obedience, not obedience in salvation. Rom. 1:5 - "Through him and for his name?s sake, we received grace and apostleship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith."
