Bible Question: What exactly is involved in "blaspheming against the Holy Spirit" and why is it an unforgivable sin? |
Bible Answer: Henri, I believe that the blasphemy is regarded as the rejection of the Holy Spirit which, in the final analyses, is tantamount to rejecting God Himself. We dare not take the view that God, Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit are so separated in any way that we can reject the One without rejecting All. We are dealing with the Trinity, or triune God. If I reject Christ Jesus I cannot be forgiven my sins and I remain lost and separated from the Father into eternity. Similarly, if I reject the Holy Spirit I reject His gift of grace freely given. I hope I've written clearly enough to be of help. If not I will try again. yours in Christ, dennis |
