Bible Note: While the word is not there, the evidence of repentance is there ... as pointed out already. The events Cornelius and Co. are also mentioned in Acts 11. -In Acts 2:41 it says they accepted the message and were baptized, so did they believe and repent? -Acts 5:14 only talks about believing, so did they repent, were they baptized? I think you contradict yourself ... "I think that "Cornelius and Co." did repent and probably were baptized into John's baptism." ... "All baptism done prior to Jesus' death was John's baptism, of repentance. When Christ died, the new covenant became effective (Heb 9.16f). At this point, yes, all of those still alive that were baptized into John's baptism, had to be re-baptized into Christ.." ... Why would (How could) Cornelius and Co. be batized in John's baptism, after His death ... why would Peter an Co. baptized them that way? Matthew 3:15 is Jesus talking about His baptism. While others were being baptized, His was unique. Read the context, John even knew that ... so He had to give him the reason. Did the 12 follow John or Jesus ... so why would they baptized in the former? Were the 11 rebaptized after His death? Apostasy of the old law is relevant as an example, at the very least. |
