1 | I have a related question for anyone... | Acts 8:13 | Morant61 | 69606 | ||
Greetings dgregg! I do believe that the 'gift of salvation' can be willfully rejected after one accepts Christ, not 'lost'! The distinction to me is simply this. I am secure in Christ and my salvation is based entirely upon what He did upon the Cross, not my works. So, my salvation is not based upon how 'good' I am or how 'obedient' I am. But, it is based upon being 'in Him'. So, to me, Heb. 6 and 10 do not describe someone who simply committed a sin and 'lost' their salvation. They describe someone who was fully aware of what it meant to be in Christ and that Christ was the only source of salvation, yet willfully rejected Him. This to me is the very definition of apostasy - to know better yet to turn away from Christ. The phrase 'no sacrifice for sins left' (Heb. 10:26) simply means that once one has willfully rejected the only source of salvation, where can one then turn? Now, my good forum friends of the other persuasion, I will not be led into another long debate! :-) If anyone has a very specific point of refutation or clarification, I will be glad to respond to it. But, I don't intend to rehash all of the same positions which have been dealt with in the past. ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim Moran, Amen, brother! :) I couldn't agree more. Salvation can't be lost, but it can be rejected. This is very similar to what Andrew Wommack (www.awmi.net) has to say on this issue. Thanks for taking the time to relay your thoughts to me! You've been a tremendous help! |

Greetings dgregg! I'm not familiar with Mr. Wommack, but I'm glad I could help out some! :-) One thing we always need to remember is that Christians are split right down the middle on this issue! There are godly people on both sides of this issue, for whom I have the utmost respect. Many of them, right here on this forum! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
