My Dear Teacher, For what does scripture say? The argument of Rom. 4:4-8 would challenge this assertion. Vs.7 and 8 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin." The example given is that just as Abraham's righteousness was BY FAITH, so is ours! I also think it a bit of a stretch to say "Sin is not remitted until baptism therefore we are not saved until baptism." Hebrews 9:22 specifically says..."and without the shedding of blood there is no remission." By you own definition are you not guilty of "the doctrines of men?" Otherwise there is a logical gap in your reasoning. Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK PS My friend it really would be appreciated if you could post some info about yourself under the personal bio. Fair enough? |

And by faith, Abraham did something, he offered up his only son Isaac as a sacrifice. This deed, done by faith, was imputed to him for righteousness. Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was offering up his only begotten son; Sin is not remitted until baptism therefore we are not saved until baptism? Two passages say that it is. Acts 2:38, forgiveness of sin occurs after repentance and baptism, Acts 22:16 Paul's sins were "washed away" after he was baptized. The phrase "shedding of blood" refers to Christ's death. We come into contact with Christ's death when? Rom 6.3 No, I am not guilty of doctrines of men. What would you like to know about me that would benefit you? |

Dear Teacher, I humbly withdraw my request. At this point there is both nothing further about you I would like to know nor that would benefit me. Brother, God forbid that someone should attempt to show genuine interested in another or seek to know more about a fellow believer on this forum. Please forgive me. :-) Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK |
