1 | What if we don't keep God's commands? | Romans | Morant61 | 67136
Greetings Teacher! Are Christians supposed to obey God? Of course they are! No one disputes that point! However, what is in dispute is whether or not obedience to God's commands saves us! The answer is no! We are saved by grace, not by ANYTHING we DO (2 Tim. 1:9). As I have quoted time and time again, Eph. 2:8-10 makes it perfectly clear that 'good works' are a result of salvation, not the basis for salvation. Not one of the verses you quoted above says that we are saved by obeying God's commands! Many verses say that we are not saved by anything we do! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Then answer my question of where in the bible it states that baptism is a work. Using the Eph passage to support such a teaching as yours is, if you'll pardon the expression, tunnel vision. This is one passage among many dealing with salvation. We must look at all of them and arrive at a conclusion based on all of them, not just one.
3 | What if we don't keep God's commands? | Romans | Morant61 | 67150
Greetings Teacher! Is baptism something done? If so, then by definition, it is a work! :-) Scripturally speaking, there is nothing wrong with works, except for trusting in them for salvation! p.s. - I cited you many more verses than just Eph. 2:8-9, but even that one would be enough to show that we cannot do anything for salvation. It has already been done by Christ! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

4 | At what point are sins remitted? | Romans | Teacher | 67152
At what point does the death of Christ take away the sins of a person wishing to be saved?
5 | At what point are sins remitted? | Romans | Morant61 | 67154
Greetings Teacher! There are two answers to this question: 1) Objectively, 2000 years ago, when He died upon the cross. 2) Subjectively, at the moment of belief. As soon as we call on the Lord, we are saved and from that moment on, nothing we do or don't do can ever make us more or less saved. Salvation is complete in Christ.
