Bible Note: Dear Brother Tim, I have argued this point with you a number of times. Since the last time we discussed it, I've spent considerable study in Romans in general, and in this passage in particular. I am now persuaded that that the Romans 7:7ff is autobiographical nature, representing a period in Paul's life before he was saved. In other words: I was wrong. I still disagree with the notion of sinless perfection. However, Romans 7 is clearly not a passage that teaches progressive sanctification. Thank you for your patient instruction. In Him, Doc |
