NASB | Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God [as the Creator], they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasonings, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. |

Bible Note: Dairyman5 My analogy on glue and paper does fit, I know it, I have talked and worked with enough divorced people to know that analogy fits exactly real life. It is also based on Bible premise of when we marry we become one, that is why God hates divorce because He knows one can never be divided into two again. Only you know your call. I can't/will not judge another man's slave. However are you certain you were called to pastoring? Are you sure you weren't call to preach and teach in different situations outside of pastoring? Many men and women feel they have been called into pastoring only to find they weren't called to that office but still were called to ministry. I have a dear friend that was in similar situation as you and he had a call on his life. Everytime he tried to pastor it ended all wrong. However the minute he became a chaplain his ministry bloomed. Even though that divorce was many years ago and long before you were saved you still carry baggage from what happened. That has got to effect you and it has got to effect some segments of pastoring. As I said only you know your call, if you are certain you are called then I would think it this would be settled with you. However it doen't sound settled. Your in my prayers. EdB |
