NASB | Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 1:21 For even though they knew God [as the Creator], they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasonings, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. |

Bible Note: Justme I think a divorced can be and is forgiven when the divorced person asks God for forgiveness. I do not see it as the unforgiveable sin. However I do see God saying he has not called divorced men into his service as elders or pastors. God hasn't given a reason for this but I'm sure it is a good one. However we the church can not will not accept that. We call it unfair. We say if we do this we are making divorced people second class citizens, and etc. However the reason may be something entirely different in God's plan. Maybe God wants to honor all the wives of elders and pastors once we all get to heaven and he didn't want any divorce wives to feel left out. Once again we are taking a passage where God never took it. God has said something and we say we don't agree therefore it must mean this or God really meant that. EdB |
