Subject: What is iniquity in Matthew 7:23? |
Bible Note: Synagogue (Messianic) in the morning and I can't sleep, anyway. Quote: "Do you really believe God would allow that to happen?" Ezekiel 20:19 "I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. 21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth." They were spared because of how it would look to the heathens. Ezekiel 20:23 "I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols. 25 Wherefore I GAVE THEM also statutes that were NOT GOOD, and judgments whereby THEY SHOULD NOT LIVE;26 And I POLLUTED them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD. After repeated pleadings for them to follow His ways, YHWH gave them up even to child sacrifice in order to bring some in the long-run to repentance. The reality is regardless of our own personal feelings, YHWH is going to do everything He has placed in His Word. Isaiah, Paul and Yeshua all clearly talk about spiritual blindness and its effects. He will not violate our free will to get us to understand, we have to be receptive. Here's something most people miss: 2Thess 2:10 "...because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause GOD SHALL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." This is why God cannot be mocked. If we do not seek Him (Truth) earnestly we could be under a strong delusion implemented by YHWH Himself. We can both read the same verses and be convinced it is saying something different because one of us may not have a "love of the truth". We will both be convinced that we are right when one of us may be falling into the ditch (Matthew 15:14). |
