1 | When will I speak/pray in tongues? | Acts 2:6 | Hank | 27782
Yes, yes! Joe .... Something more -- that's what our modern age is looking for.... Something more and a quick fix, a spiritual pill that we can take with our orange juice of a morning and feel good all day! An overweight Hollywood fading beauty queen, so the story goes, was observed standing impatiently in front of her microwave saying, "Hurry, hurry, please hurry." So whatever happened to waiting upon the Lord? --Hank
2 | When will I speak/pray in tongues? | Acts 2:6 | ashestobeauty | 27819
Just for the record… I "waited" on the Lord for 8 months (Speaking in tongues the whole time along with praying, worshiping, reading my bible, standing in faith, etc.) while I watched my marriage crumble.... before my eyes. I was told by my husband "I love you but cant live with you anymore" EIGHT MONTHS OF WAITING ON GOD. And because He is faithful He restored, renewed, and revived my marriage. So I do not believe I am someone that can be considered as looking for.... Something more and a quick fix, a spiritual pill that I can take with my orange juice of a morning and feel good all day... Just becuase I believe that being able to talk to God using tongues and English played a huge part in being able to "wait on God", does not mean that I am someone who is looking for a feeling or has a "hurry up God" attitude. If I did I would not be married today. |
