Bible Question (short): when you talk to God... |
Question (full): When you talk to God in English, Do you initiate that experience yourself? :o) As far as understanding what is being said, My Spirit is talking to God it doesn't matter if my mind understands it or not. There are times though when I will also say some words in English and that will bring clarity to what I am praying for or about. I do believe that God can work through people who have the ministry Gift of Speaking In Tongues and then interpreting in a service setting, and give them the ability to speak in foreign languages so that someone who is from another country, will understand what they are saying. I've heard of that happening. But in my own time with God I simply speak from my spirit at times, and it's not in English. Most of the time I pray in English but there are times when I use the gift of tongues. One question for you, what is your motive for asking all these questions? I do not mind sharing my heart with someone who is genuinely interested in the topic and willing to agree to disagree, but if your motive is to prove me wrong or get me to "slip up" by something I say then let's end it here. |
