Subject: Define "praying in the Holy Spirit" |
Bible Note: Greetings retxar! Blessings to you and Merry Christmas! I value both your opinion and Tim's, and I sincerely appreciate you giving me some insight on what I have posted or quoted. I agree, it is better just to read the Bible for what its worth and to gather a meaning from what the text actually says to you rather than to look down the page every time to see what a commentator has written about it, even though the commentator has most likely written a very good piece on the subject. Speaking in tongues is something that is supernatural- it is a "supernatural" gift. I would suppose that if a person does speak or pray in a tongue, then that person's human mind is not the "source" of the tongue. There is a possibility that a believer can experience this type of revelation, but I am ill-suited as far as being an authority on speaking or praying in tongues. I have never prayed in a language outside of English! So I believe that it can be done, since the Bible includes this type of "supernatural" interaction here in this verse. But I am still searching and learning as to what this "praying in tongues" or "praying in the Spirit" really means, since this is beyond my experience. Blessings to you, Nolan |
