Bible Note: Hello, What about this verse in Rev. 22:18-19 (Rev 22:18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (Rev 22:19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. How does God take away his part out of the book of life? The only way I know of is to erase or strike his name out of the book. I think about it like this. God loved the world so much that He gave His Son (John 3:16), and He is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9), so before the foundation of the world, God wrote everybody that was to be born into the book of life. The only way our name can be taken out of the book of life is to die in your sin, that is, die without accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior. I have never heard anyone else say this, but I have thought about it for a long time. We tell people that when they accept Jesus, their names are written in the book of life, but I can't find that in the Bible, only that our names are written in the book before the foundation of the world, and then that they can be taken out of the book, see Rev. 22 again. What do you think, later...wdc |
