Bible Note: Greetings Discipled! Yes! In the post that you have responded to, I most definitely did quote the MacArthur New King James Study Bible, written by Dr. John MacArthur (www.gty.org), copyright 1997, Word Publishing, and I highly recommend this excellent Study Bible! Yes, I do not want to leave any doubt whatsoever, and I want to make it absolutely clear: I used the MacArthur Study Bible, and I love to use it on a daily basis and I highly recommend it! However, you have stated.. "If so, is it true that He doesnt believe that tongues is to be used today, that it vanished at the end of some certain dispinsation along with prohesying?" I do not believe that Mr. MacArthur believes that the gift of tongues is a gift that is obsolete or not being used in the present day and age. Perhaps you could surf to www.gty.org and gain a better perspective of what MacArthur believes on this subject. However, if you ask how I, Nolan Keck, feel about the gift of speaking in tongues, then I would say that it is and continues to be a "legitimate" gift that is still being used today, in this present day and age (1 Cor. 12). Blessings to you, Nolan |
