1 | What is iniquity in Matthew 7:23? | Matt 7:23 | Taleb | 75337 | ||
Thank you, Greg, for responding to my post. I am disappointed that you neglected to acknowledge the treasure that God allowed so many to reveal to you. This response will quote much from your response to me, to help you “recall” what you asked, or comments you made. You wrote - ”So the OT is valid when it fits your theology but “passed away” when it doesn’t?” ----- Greg, my “theology” doesn’t do away with the Old Testament; it COMPLETESS IT WHEN VIEWED WITH THE NEW. You asked -”Malachi 3:6 VALID OR PASSED AWAY?” ---- To which I declare - YES!! What is valid is still valid. What has passed away is gone, just as His Word promised it would. See most of the Old and New Testaments, for those wondrous promises about the finality of the Law and the beginning of a totally NEW beginning. Your comment, ”Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” MAYBE HE CHANGED HIS MIND?” confused me. Greg, do you understand WHO SPOKE this? What does the rest of Scripture say about this individual? He, who “doesn’t change” actually does CHANGE, as often as He purposes change. The “law” used to be “in stone’, until God CHANGED His method by writing it on men’s hearts, just as the OLD Testament promised He would. The New Testament “books” all spell it all out for you. The Passover “used” to remind His people He freed them from Egypt’s bondage. Ever since the first "Easter" (or, if you prefer the last Passover, as "commanded in the Old Testament") we are reminded that He freed us from the world’s bondage of sin. NOW it's "as often as you ..." in remembrance of HIM - NOT "Egypt". You asked, “Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO THE OLD TESTAMENT?” --- Previous portions of Hebrews explain it in the easiest to understand of languages. Greg, it really helps to understand WHEN YOU KEEP THINGS IN PROPER CONTEXT, rather than your readily “hit and miss” selection of Scriptures, which tend to end up “miss”. The Lord would want to “warn” you about being carried with “strange varieties” of teaching. (Heb. 13:9) The true way to steadfastness of heart, is through God’s mercy.” Hebrews itself, as many have informed you, will CLEAR UP ANY AND ALL DOUBT about this whole topic. That reminds me of another "truth" portion to help you understand. John 1:16-17 "And out of the FULLNESS of Him (Jesus) we all received, and grace upon grace, the law through Moses was given, GRACE AND TRUTH CAME THROUGH JESUS CHIRST." Which does God want for you to except for your life? Law and death, or grace, truth and life? You stated, Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony: IF THEY SPEAK NOT ACCORDING TO THIS WORD, it is because there is NO LIGHT in them.” Greg, isn’t it wonderful KNOWING exactly who Isaiah is referring to, and the end result? Please don’t fall for the phony conclusion that the verses’ thoughts end at the end of any chapter. They don’t. These continue explaining what happened to those “with no light”. Chapter nine starts out beautifully, don’t you think? “Nevertheless” gives perfect insight of hope. It also deals with what you apparently fail to believe – God CHANGES. Read it for yourself. Isaiah 9:1 “Nevertheless, … there WILL BE NO MORE gloom as in EARLIER TIMES, when the Lord treated them with contempt, but LATER ON HE SHALL MAKE IT GLORIOUS.” When shall God CHANGE His treatment with contempt to making it glorious? Keep reading. The people that walked in darkness have SEEN a great light …. For unto us a child is born …. (Sound familiar?) And that child (JESUS) did what? Yup. He changed the rules, if you will. (See my notes above, below and other author’s postings for clarification.) I have seen this great light. HE (the light of the world) shed light on the efforts of men who wanted to keep me in bondage from what HE came to set me free. Free to sin? NO! Free FROM BONDAGE of sin. Amen. I’m always excited to find more and more wonderful CONNECTIONS from the Old to the New. Thank you for pointing this almost forgotten one out to me. An interesting side note: The areas listed in Isaiah 9, is where Jesus’ ministry began. Later I will respond to your attempt to list what "heathens do". In HIS grace and power, Taleb |

Taleb, I was reading an article on Revelation 2-3 and thought you might "see" the connection the articles makes with xmas at the end. I cut parts to make it fit. http://www.meguiar.addr.com/demise_3_perg_two.htm “the Doctrine of Balaam” After the death of the Apostles and the coming of Constantine, Christianity taught the heathen everywhere simply to baptize their idols and retain them. This has been repeated many times in the history of the professing Christian Church. We know by the history that the snare that Balaam set for Israel was to MIX Israel up with the worship of Baal/Lord... Numbers 23:6 – 9: ... “Balak brought me from Aram, the King of Moab from the eastern mountains. ‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.’ How can I denounce/curse those whom Jahwah has not denounced/cursed? From the rocky peaks I see them – from the heights I view them. I see a PEOPLE WHO DWELLS APART/LIVES ALONE/separated – surely a people who live by themselves/dwelling alone and not mixed up with the nations! Dwell is 1931 – shakan is “permanently stay” “alone” is 909 is badadi is to divide – be solitary.[ii] Thus it would read: “I see a people who permanently remain divided and alone and not mixed with the nations – they will not be like the other nations”. They differed from all the neighboring nations, not only in their religion and sacred rites, but also in their diet, and dress, and common usages, as a people called out of the world, and not to be conformed to it. They never lost this until they “mingled among the heathen/nations.” It is the duty and honor of those dedicated to Jahwah to be separated from the world, and not to walk according to the course and custom of it. Numbers 22:41 ... Bamoth Baal is described as worship of the SEVEN PLANETS: the Sun, the moon, and the planets in 2 Kings 23:5 Then he killed the priests whom the kings of Judah had appointed to burn incense to Bamoth Baal (to/at the High Places of Baal) - to the SUN, to the MOON, and to the planets (the seven heavenly lights that rule over the days of the pagan week) i.e. to all the hosts of heaven.)[iv] Balaam now proceeds to build seven altars as related in Numbers 23:1-3: Then Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars,[v] (one to each of the seven planets) and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams. Then Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram. And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure Jahwah will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place. Balak now takes Balaam to a place where he will surely find evidence to curse Israel with: To a place spread out and filled with Angelic watchers that keep constant watch over Israel; to the Top of the one that cuts up and dissects the burnt offering and examines each piece very closely. Surely that will turn up sin. Numbers 23:27-30 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please Elohim that thou mayest curse me them from thence. And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon. And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams. And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar. Numbers 25:1-5 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the sacrifices (the covenant sacrifices) of their g-ds: and the people did eat, and bowed down to (worship) their g-ds. And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of Jahwah was kindled against Israel. And Jahwah said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before Jahwah against the sun, that the fierce anger of Jahwah may be turned away from Israel. And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baal-peor. The name of Baal-peor must be examined in two parts, Baal and Peor. Baal is the name of the g-d (the worship of the seven planets), and Peor is the name of the site, also called Beth-peor in Deuteronomy 3:29.[viii] Peor is a hole or opening and appears to be derived from a verb denoting to open wide, to uncover. Thus Baal-peor was the opening or door to the worship of Baal and the seven planets. In Jahwah's eyes, participating in a feast of Baal is the same as engaging in idolatrous worship of that false g-d. Whether it is feasting at Christmas – The Feast of Saturn/Nimrod or worshipping and feasting on Saturday – the day set aside for Saturn, it is engaging in idolatrous worship and has been strictly forbidden by Jahwah. These are false appointed times that are dedicated to Bamoth Baal and the worship of the seven planets. |
