1 | Faithful response to gays / lesbians? | Rom 1:21 | DAIRYLEADER5 | 87330
Do you believe that David was chosen and loved by God, and what about Soloman, wasnt he chosen by God to build His temple? If God is no respector of persons then How can he make a difference between these two and us? David was an adultrier and soloman had if im not mistaken 500 wives and 600 concubines. What do you think. When we were out in sin God forgave everything except ,we were married before. If he didnt theres a lot of people in church and including David and Soloman that are going to hell.
2 | Faithful response to gays / lesbians? | Rom 1:21 | EdB | 87347
DAIRYLEADER5 It is not a matter of forgiveness, of course a divorced person can be forgiven. There is no mention of forgiveness or unforgiveness in the prohibition of a divorced man serving as a pastor. For reasons God never shared He simply said this is want He wanted nothing more nothing less. It is man that reads into this passage and tries to apply his understanding and meanings. We pretend to know what God was thinking and His reason for saying what He said. When in fact we have no idea in the world why God made this prohibition. As for David and Solomon yes they both served as Kings and yes I believe God loved them, but they were never called to pastor. EdB |

If you believe that one sin is as great as another, then the apostill Paul said that he was the chief sinner, he was a preacher, look at the sermon of solomon 2 cron 6;1 -11, eccl. 1;1 1 kings 8;14,15.I believe that God no longer remembers what we did out in sin but people will always. If a man who was devorced while out in sin is called to preach by God, who are we to say he wasnt?

DAIRYLEADER5 Once again you bring it back to sin. Did God say a divorced person can not be a pastor because of sin? NO! God simply said the man should be a husband of one wife. Why? I don't know but I suspect it has something to do with the effects of divorce. A great example of marriage is taking two pieces of paper and gluing them together. Bone of bone and flesh of flesh. The paper is stuck tightly together. They move in unison as one smooth and flowing.. Now divorce comes along. As you try to separate the two pieces of paper you soon find pieces of one tears off and clings to the other and vice versa. You can never get the two completely apart. There is a residual of the one left on the other. There is never a clean sheet of paper ever again. Now the divorced person marries another, they are once again pasted together but their is hindrances to the perfect union, the residual that was stuck to the one is now between them. While they are pasted together and become one there are still lumps stuck between them. No matter what the person tries to do some of the old spouse is still there. Because they were once bone of bone and flesh of flesh. Perhaps to be the pastor God calls man to be requires a perfect union one unencumbered with the residual left behind by our divorced spouse. It may not have anything to do with sin at all. It is just something God doesn’t want in the man he calls to pastor. EdB |
